Calhoun’s Tigers dropped to (1-5) in a 60-6 rout to Goshen (5-1) Friday night action.
“We were outmatched,” said Calhoun Coach James Bibb. “They came out hard early in the game and it seemed like we gave up a big play on almost every drive.”
Late it the fourth quarter, junior Trevontae Hardy scored the Tigers only touchdown of the game on a five-yard run against the Eagles.
“We are not getting to the ball fast enough and we are not getting our blocks,” said Bibb. “We have been trying to get the guys motivated…we’re really over the tough part of our schedule.”
Bibb added that if the Tigers can manage to win the remainder of their games this season, there is a good chance the team may proceed to the playoffs.
The Tigers are scheduled to face New Blockton on the Gamecocks territory.
Calhoun is not doing anything different this week than they have in previous practices, according to Bibb, they “are just trying to do it better.”
“I have told the team that football is a game of tackling and blocking,” Bibb said. “If we can do that better, we can compete better.”
The Gamecocks defeated Zion Chapel last week in a 28-13 win over the Rebels.
