Police still searching for suspect

Hayneville Police are still searching for a suspect who attempted to elude authorities Nov. 5, said Hayneville Police Chief Kelvin Mitchell.

Hayneville authorities were on detail in Mosses after receiving numerous complaints about people loitering near local businesses.

After noticing a vehicle parked beside the Mosses Meat Market, authorities attempted to approach the suspects’ car.

“We told them numerous times to stop hanging out, but they ignored the verbal warnings we gave,” Mitchell said.

Police shot out the tire of the suspects’ car after the two men drove toward the officers in an attempt to get away.

The two men exited the car and led police on a foot chase, however Hayneville police were able to apprehend one of the men.

Anthony Means, 29, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, attempting to elude, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container and loitering.
