The churches of Lowndes County and the Lowndes County Public School District have joined together to offer residents a training opportunity to help improve students’ education.
The objective of the training sessions are to learn effective strategies to assist students while working with an affiliated church.
The courses will be held Thursday, June 21 and Friday, June 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 23.
Benefits include receiving training from a certified professional (Bobbie Wilson), improving tutorial skills through exposure to instructional techniques, providing a Christian service while helping a student in need of assistance, meeting individuals who have an interest in improving the community and earning a certificate upon completion of the three-day program.
Anyone who possesses a willingness to help students improve their learning skills and content knowledge and is interested in working with a church-sponsored tutorial program is eligible.
The program will be held at Hayneville Middle School, 101 Lafayette Street in Hayneville.
To apply, call Ms. Goldsmith or Ms. Patterson at 548-2131, Monday-Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Enrollment ends June 19.
