A political forum for all candidates in the upcoming Mosses municipal election will be held in the park at the town’s municipal complex on Saturday, Aug. 18.
The event is being sponsored by Geraldine Grant, the former “legal redress” for the NAACP in Georgia and who now has a foundation, VOTS (Victims Of The System), in Georgia to help those believed to be falsely accused with legal defense.
“I’m doing this for Mosses because that is my home. I was born and raised there,” Grant said about hosting a political forum in Mosses.
While she now lives in Atlanta, Grant said she wants to see candidates in Mosses concerned about the town and to see growth and change where “young kids don’t have to go out of the town … we want to bring jobs there… we want to bring the community together.”
She said the event will include a meet and greet from 3-4 p.m. for citizens to meet and talk to candidates and a political forum from 4-5 p.m.
Grant said candidates, citizens and the media will be allowed to write questions to be asked of the candidates by narrator Raymond Surles.
“My whole thing is to bring growth to the community because I care about the community,” Grant said.
Refreshments will be served.
