The Calhoun Tigers, under second-year head football coach Bill Williamson, played a pre-season jamboree against Autaugaville on the road Friday night, falling 27-22 in the final seconds.
“I felt like our kids gave really, really good effort. It was hot. You know we didn’t have enough kind of depth, a lot of them were going both ways,” Williamson said of his Tigers.
“It was a hot muggy night, and I thought we played hard,” he said.
“We played a good team,” said Williamson, but he added that his team has to get better.
The Tigers led 22-21 with 15 seconds left in the game, when Autaugaville scored on a long pass play to make the final 27-22.
Calhoun will host Dallas County at home this Friday.
