The Lowndes Academy Rebels improved to 3-3 on the season Friday night with a win.

The Rebels proved ungracious hosts to Southern Academy, dumping the visitors 27-21 in Hayneville..

For Lowndes Academy, Garrett Headley scored on runs 9 and 10-yards and threw a 6-yard touchdown pass on a fake field goal to Michael Scribner.

Rebels’ quarterback Cody Harrell scored on a 25-yard run and was 9-11 in passing for 115 yards.

Headley led Rebels’ rushers with 72 yards while Willie Nall led Lowndes Academy receivers with 72 yards.,

The Rebels racked up three fumble recoveries on the defensive side of the ball with, two by Headley and one by Alex Thrash. David Hussey contributed with an interception.

Derek Pearson led the Rebels with 16 total tackles while Headley had eight.

The Rebels next travel to Wilcox.
