The 2A Calhoun Tigers found themselves on the short end of another lopsided score on the road Friday night, falling to New Brockton in a regional tilt 60-20. But Calhoun head football coach Bill Williamson was encouraged.
His now 0-2 Tigers were coming off a beat down at the hands of 4A Dallas County 54-0 on the road.
“We made great progress tonight,” Williamson said. “I was real pleased with them.”
He said based on what he saw, “We’ve got a chance if we keep working.”
For Calhoun, Jamine Jordan scored on an 80-yard run, Jamarcus Davison scored on a 50-yard run and on a 30-yard pass from Jordan.
The Tigers, 0-2 overall and 0-1 in regional play, will be on the road again next week to face Zion Chapel in another regional encounter.
