LCIA meets tonight in Hayneville

The next scheduled monthly meeting for the Lowndes County Improvement Association will be held tonight, Thursday, Aug. 18, at 6:30 p.m. at Hayneville Church of Christ.
Dr. O.L. Hubert, clinical pharmacist/rural health care economic development consultant said Chuck Reese, president of Rush Medical Foundation met with the group and expressed sincere interest in a Hayneville Hospital/Medical Center and Fort Deposit Medical Center Project.
Hubert said Reese “discussed the necessary steps and or procedures needed to make this project a reality.” He said Reese told them, “One important criteria for the success of this project is the further development of L.C.I.A as a community voice.”
Hubert said, “For this reason it is very important that all Lowndes County residents and other interested parties be present at the next scheduled meeting for the development of this 30-bed critical access hospital with a 24-hour emergency room services, as well as, county wide ambulance services.”
