The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a Mosses man found lying in a field, but says it is unknown if foul play was involved.
Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Jeremy Marvin said, “On Friday Dec. 16, 2016 at 10 a.m. the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a body (lying) in the middle of a field near the intersection of County Road 2 and Main Street in Mosses Ala.
“When deputies and Investigators arrived, a black male subject who was identified as Edward McCall, 60 years of age, and resident of Mosses Ala., was found deceased on the ground in the grass.”
Marvin said, “At this time it is unknown if there is any foul play.”
Marvin said the body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
He said the case is being worked as a death investigation until the report from the medical examiner returns to his office.
