A single-vehicle crash in Lowndes County at 1:40 a.m. today, Monday, Jan. 9, has claimed the life of a Texas man.
According to Cpl. Jess Thornton of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), “Angel Alberto Soto, 40, of San Antonio was killed when the 2016 Dodge Journey in which he was a passenger left the road and struck a guardrail.”
He said the accident occurred on Interstate 65 near mile maker 148, about six miles north of Fort Deposit and that Soto was pronounced dead at the scene.
Thornton said nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
