A 35-year-old Deatsville woman was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and manslaughter today, Monday, March 20, in connection with an Autauga County crash in which a pedestrian from Hayneville was struck and killed on Thursday, March 16.
According to Jesse Thornton of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, on March 16, “Larue Bandy, 55, of Hayneville was working in a construction zone when he was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.”
He said the crash occurred on Autauga County 85 near Autauga County 104 about four miles north of Prattville at 2:25 p.m. And, he said, the driver of a 2003 Ford Explorer, identified as Kelly Nicole Dingler, 35, of Deatsville, was transported to a local hospital.
Thornton said on Monday, Dingler, was charged by Alabama State Troopers today with “driving under the influence of a controlled substance and manslaughter “and was booked in the Autauga County Jail with the assistance of the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office. He said total bond was set at $15,000.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
