The Fort Deposit Chamber of Commerce will spon the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 4 from 7:30 until 8 am. with Greater New Faith Baptist Church on Pollard Street serving as the host church.
The church is located in the old Fort Deposit Motor Building/Library.
Joseph Covington, pastor of Greater New Faith, will give the welcome, the opening prayer and the closing prayer.
Prayers for confession, thanksgiving, families, community, schools, and the Nation will be led by Dennis Carlson, Bennie Stanford, Wilbert Jenkins, Fletcher Fountain, Ken Kilpatrick and Sam Cooper.
The Scripture chosen for this year’s annual event is from Daniel 9:19 – “O Lord, Listen! O Lord, Forgive! O Lord, Hear and Act! Delay Not, For Your Own Sake, O My God….”
Chamber President Eric Ellis is encouraging all churches and residents to join with this group in prayer, especially for our community.
