According to the National Weather Service, tropical system Irma will bring windy conditions to Central Alabama and an advisory is in effect for areas generally west of Interstate 65.
In effect from 9 a.m. Monday until 1 a.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Wind Advisory issued a wind advisory.
Sustained winds of 20-35 mph are possible with some gusts into the 35-50 mph range These wind speeds and gusts are capable of snapping some tree limbs, damaging unsecured smaller outdoor items, and may produce isolated power outages.
A wind advisory means gusts of 35 mph are expected and can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicle.
The impact area includes Autuaga, Bibb, Chilton, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Lowndes, Marengo, Marion, Perry and Pickens counties.
