The Lowndes Signal
Lowndes Academy Rebels fell at home to the visiting Chambers Academy Rebels 38-14 Friday night in a regional contest to go 1-3 on the season and 0-2 in Class A Region 1 Play.
“we played extremely hard tonight against a good Chambers team,” said Lowndes Academy head football coach Bob Taylor.
Lowndes Academy will now have a week to rest before facing Wilcox Academy in a non-retinal contest for homecoming on September 29.
Taylor said, “The open week couldn’t come at a better time to get some of the guys well. Hopefully we can get some things fixed on offense this week.”

But the second quarter belonged to the visiting Rebels who scored on a 1-yard run, a 9-yard run and a 2-point conversion to make it a 14-2 Chambers lead at the half.

The visiting Rebels added insult to injury, however, scoring on a fumble return for touchdown and 2-point conversion to make it a 38-14 final in favor of Chambers.
