The Lowndes County Commission unanimously approved resolutions Monday, Sept. 18 to place the renewal of a total of 7 mill of ad valorem taxes for the Lowndes County Public School System on the ballot for the U.S. Senate Special General Election on Tuesday, Dec. 12

The commission also recessed its meeting on Sept. 18 to be continued at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20 to consider bids on Highway Department supplies, except for tires, which will be rebid, and to consider its budget including revenues of $9,074,574.71 and expenditures of $9,547,722.71 and a balance forward of $590,079.

The commission also went into executive session on Sept. 18 on a matter of general reputation and character, but took no action.
