The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a sex offender on the run.

Jeremy A. Marvin, an investigator with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, said Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 8, “Andre Lavaughn Cameron is a registered Sex Offender in Lowndes County. He has currently absconded from this agency and is on the run somewhere in the Montgomery area.”

Marvin said Cameron has felony warrants for his arrest with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, as well as misdemeanor and felony warrants with Montgomery. He said Cameron was released from prison earlier this year on felony rape charges.

Marvin said, “It is unknown if Mr. Cameron is armed, but should be considered dangerous.”

He said the offender is known to frequent the Southmont Drive area in south Montgomery City. And he said he is also known to frequent the Chisolm area.
