Lowndes County District Attorney Charlotte M. Tesmer said Wednesday, April 18 that a Lowndes County jury returned two guilty verdicts against Gregory Wayne Baskin, 42, of Hayneville, who was charged with four counts of sodomy.
She said the charges arose from an incident with a young boy under the age of 12.
Tesmer said the incidents happened several years ago and that Baskin was indicted in 2015.
She said Baskin was found not guilty on two of the charges.
Tesmer said, “We are happy with the verdict and appreciative of the time and attention shown by the jurors.”
Tesmer is the district attorney for the 2nd Judicial District, which serves Lowndes, Butler and Crenshaw counties. And the case was presided over by Lowndes County District Judge Adrian D. Johnson.
