A 58 year-old-man, Kenny Lee Darity, has been charged by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office with one count of murder in connection with a body found Thursday, April 12 in Lowndes County.
Investigator Lenny Lee of Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office said “There were some young men out there, and they were hunting with their dog, and their dog came across the remains of this person.”
He said it was at Lowndes County Road 37 near County Road 54. Lee said the hunters contacted the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, which secured the scene and turned it over to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
Captain Trent Beasley of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Darity was charged Tuesday, April 17 with one count of murder, intentionally causing death, in connection with the death of 39-year-old Christina Bloss, who had been missing since February 2017.
Beasley said the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office enlisted the help of the SBI and the case was being handled by the state.
Beasley said, however, “We made positive identification through the skeletal remains that was that of Christina Bloss, so that linked it to our investigation of the disappearance of her.”
He said Bloss had resided with some friends in and around the city of Montgomery. He also said Darity resided in Montgomery at one time and that he was arrested in Montgomery.
