Selma man charged with attempted murder of White Hall man

A Selma man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the shooting and serious injury of a White Hall man.
Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Lenny Lee said on Friday, June 22, Nathan Jerome Tyus, 22, of Selma was charged on Thursday, June 21 with attempted murder in connection with the shooting of Antonio Colman, 32, of White Hall.
Lee said, “On (Sunday) June 17, 2018 at approximately 12:28 a.m. the Lowndes County Sheriff’s office responded to a shooting at 787 Freedom Road in the White Hall area of Lowndes County.”
He said, Coleman, 32, of White Hall was shot and seriously injured and airlifted to Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery.
“Following tips and leads from witnesses and the community, 22-year-old Nathan Jerome Tyus of Selma Alabama was taken into custody on (Thursday) June 21, 2018,” Lee said.
According to Lee, “Investigators with the sheriff’s office questioned Tyus, who admitted to shooting Mr. Coleman over a $5 bet on a pool game.”
He said Tyus was arrested and charged with attempted murder and is being held at the John Hulett Detention Facility in Hayneville on a $150,000 bond.
