LCBOE Head Start observes World AIDS Day

Lowndes County Board of Education Head Start partnered with Selma AIR, Inc. to observe World AIDS Day on December 1, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Selma AIR, Inc. works to prevent the spread of HIV and deaths from AIDS across the Black Belt of Alabama and their contact telephone number is 334-872-6795.
The drive-thru event was held on the campus of Central High School in Hayneville, AL. The following services were provided:
*HIV/AID testing (with on-site results), education, counseling, and condoms *COVID-19 vaccination incentives
*Every LCBOEHS family was provided a $25.00 Hayneville AG grocery certificate and a bag of household cleaning supplies
The organization Selma AIR stated twelve individuals requested the HIV/AIDS testing which their organization deemed a successful outreach to the community.
Note: The Hayneville AG food certificates will expire on December 31, 2021.
