Lowndes County schools gear up for basketball season

Football season has come to an end and basketball season has officially kicked off for Lowndes County Public Schools.
The Calhoun School:
The Calhoun Tigers varsity boys team started their season on Nov. 17 with a 66-63 win against the Dallas County Hornets. The Lady Tigers also took a win over the Hornets with the score resting at 53-27. Following the match against Dallas County, the Lady Tigers Participated in a Thanksgiving Tournament on Nov. 18 at Luverne High School where they secured a 46-29 win over the McKenzie Tigers.
Central-Hayneville:
On Nov. 14 the varsity boys Lions took on the Wetumpka Indians, putting up a valiant effort but suffering a 62-61 loss as the Indians secured a shot at the final buzzer. The Lions traveled to Bullock County High School on Nov. 16 where the varsity boys fell 69-39, and the varsity girls fell 46-16.
