The Lowndes Middle School girls’ team defeats Hayneville Middle School.
Lowndes Middle boys win against Capitol Heights.
Francis Marion Boys defeated Central-Hayneville.
Calhoun Boys defeated Sidney Lanier.
Calhoun girls defeated Central-Hayneville.

Twelve middle and high school basketball teams met at The Calhoun School on Dec. 9 to participate in a tournament honoring the late coach, educator, and principal Tito Baker. According to Lowndes County Athletic Director Nick Rankins, the tournament provided a day full of impressive athleticism.
“The 3rd Annual Toriano ‘Tito’ Baker Memorial Classic was a great day of exciting games,” Rankins said. “We were honored to have Mr. Baker’s family award each winning team their trophy along with Coach Ervin Starr, Athletic Director at the Calhoun School.”
Tournament game outcomes were as follows:
- Lowndes Middle Girls defeated Hayneville Middle
- Lowndes Middle Boys defeated Capitol Heights
- Hayneville Middle Boys defeated Lead Academy
- Calhoun Girls defeated Central-Hayneville
- Francis Marion Boys defeated Central-Hayneville
- Calhoun Boys defeated Sidney Lanier
