Crash claims life of Lowndes County man

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is investigating a fatal crash which took place near the 106-mile marker on Alabama 21 late in the evening on Dec. 14. Sergeant Jeremy Burkett issued a media release on Dec. 15 which identified the victim as Kent McWilliams of Letohatchee.
According to Burkett, McWilliams was traveling approximately 14 miles south of Hayneville when the crash occurred.
“Kent Q. McWilliams, 37, was fatally injured when the 2007 Toyota Camry he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree,” Burkett said. “McWilliams was not using a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
At this time, no further information has been released as law enforcement officials continue the investigation. This article will be updated as any new information is released.
