Residents of Fort Deposit and surrounding communities gathered along Old Fort Road on Dec. 16 to enjoy the town’s annual Christmas Parade. Holiday cheer rang through the “45” as attendees celebrated in anticipation of Saint Nick’s arrival. Mayor Jacquelyn Boone offered her thanks to those who came out to watch as well as those who played an active role in making this year’s festivities a success. 

“I just want to thank everyone that participated,” Boone said. “There were local churches like Bethlehem Christian Church, Greater New Faith Baptist Church, and Temple Gate Church. There were a host of other entries, but I wanted to personally thank those churches and their congregations for their support, as well as The Calhoun High School band, Lowndes and Butler County Toys For Tots, Fort Deposit Fire and Rescue, Randy’s Wrecker Service, Fort Deposit Police Department, and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department.”
