Lewis voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week

Demontavis Thigpen is a junior at The Calhoun School and participates on the Mighty Tigers Marching Band and Pep Band and is also a member of the Tigers Track and Field Team. Demontavis is that Monday ray of sunshine after a weekend of rainy days. He's the epitomy of positivity. Demontavis writes and performs his own poems and hip-hop songs. He's been known to perform "happy birthday songs" to members of the faculty and had the student body, faculty and staff all on their feet during the school's recent Black History program.
Jamaxin Lewis is a baseball player for the Central High School Lions. He had a three-run homerun an a total of 6 RBIs against Calhoun for the 12-2 win.
Dominic Dougan is a senior first baseman for the Lowndes Academy varsity baseball team. He went 5-12 at bat with five runs scored and had the game winning RBI to edge out Fort Dale Academy in extra innings this week.

JaMaxin Lewis has been voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week for Week 24. He is a baseball player for the Central High School Lions.
Lewis had a three-run homerun and a total of six RBIs against Calhoun for the 12-2 win on March 14. Hel won this week’s award by receiving 60%, 1342 out of 2,227, of the votes.
Dominic Dougan from Lowndes Academy and Dentavis Thigpen from The Calhoun School were also nominated for their athleticism and setting the standard for excellence on and off the court. Congratulations to Lewis and all athletes nominated this week.
