Davis voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week

Jakobian Davis is voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week for Week 27.
Izzy Sullins is a freshman softball player for Lowndes Academy. Izzy went 2-0 at bat while only allowing three hits, racking up 12 strikeouts and giving up no runs against Crenshaw Christian Academy this week. The final scores were 11-1 and 10-0. Izzy always does her best and strives to be better every time she hits the dirt.
Layla Olyphant is a sophomore at The Calhoun School. She runs track for the "Running Tigers" and is the new captain of the Calhoun Cheer Squad. Layla is an amazingly talented young lady, as she excels in the classroom, on the track, leading cheers, showing her artistic talents or being loved by all of her schoolmates, faculty and staff. Alongside with her infectious smile and attitude, Layla is an outstanding student athlete at The Calhoun School.

Jakobian Davis has been voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week for Week 27. He is a junior at Central High School in Hayneville.
Davis plays baseball for the Lions and in their 15-3 win over RC Hatch, he was named player of the game. Davis went two for four with five RBI’s. He had a bases loaded triple and a single.
Johnson won this week’s award by receiving 80%, 1,295 out of 1,610, of the votes.
Izzy Sullins from Lowndes Academy and Layla Olyphant from The Calhoun School were also nominated for their athleticism and setting the standard for excellence on and off the court. Congratulations to Davis and all the student-athletes for being nominated this week.
