Calhoun Graduation
The Calhoun School commencement exercises are scheduled for 7 p.m. on May 16 in the A.R. Stickney Gym.
Fun Day
Central Head Start will host a fun day on May 17 at Central Elementary beginning at 9 a.m.
Class Day
Class Day for Central High School will take place on May 17 at 10 a.m. in the gym.
Transition Ceremony
Hayneville Middle School will host an 8th grade transition ceremony on May 17. The event begins at 9 a.m. in the gym.
Promotion Ceremony
Fort Deposit Elementary will hold a 5th grade promotion ceremony May 17 at 1 p.m. in the gymnasium.
Central Graduation
Central High School commencement exercises are scheduled for 9 a.m. on May 18 in the Uralee A. Haynes Gym.
Health/Wellness
The Lowndes County Disabled Americans Veterans, Chapter 100 joins community partners to sponsor a Health and Wellness Expo May 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Fort Deposit Guard Armory. The free event features vendors, entertainment, give-a-ways, free food and a bounce house for the kids. Call (281) 416-6156 for additional information.
Prayer Walk
Calvary Church will host its 6th annual Pentecost Prayer Walk on May 19 at 9 a.m. Lineup starts at 8:30 a.m. from the church at 6000 U.S. Highway 80 East in Lowndesboro. Participants are encouraged to bring signs and posters.
Community Conversation
Alabama Public Health will host a community conversation to discuss septic tank solutions May 21 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Collirene Boys and Girls Club, 3774 County Road 9 in Tyler. Refreshments will be provided to registered guests. Call (334) 206-6488 to register.
Honors Program
An honors program for fifth grade students at Hayneville Middle School is scheduled for May 21 at 9 a.m. in the school’s library.
Pre-K Program
First Years Child Development Center, First Class Pre-K offers a free 4-year-old program from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for working parents and 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for non-working parents. Classes start in August. Space is limited. Call Katina Surles at (334) 281-8627 for more information.
Fishing Tournament
The Fishers of Men Fishing Tournament, a ministry of Genesis Baptist Church, will be held May 25 – 27 at 488 Pearl Lane is Lenox. The contest is free to enter and offers six grand prizes with two age divisions, 12 and under and 13 and up. Call 855.244.3466 Ext. 5.
Church Anniversary
The Calvary Church in Lowndesboro will celebrate its 10th anniversary with the theme, “Great is Thy Faithfulness: Lamentations 3:23” Sunday, June 2 at 2 p.m. Guest speaker will be Bishop Kyle Saercy.

LCUWP Applications
The Lowndes County Unincorporated Wastewater Project is accepting applications for septic system installation or repair at its office located at 507 W. Tuskeena Street in Hayneville. Call (334) 548-2006 or stop by Monday, Wednesday, or Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for an application.
Head Start

Summer School

Juneteenth Celebration
Community members are invited to the inaugural Juneteenth Celebration, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Freedom Park, across from the Whitehall Town Hall. Wellness Tour
