Addison Bridges has been voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week for Week 3. She is a senior at Lowndes Academy, where she made 22 kills last week and is a vital part of the Lady Rebels volleyball success.

Bridges is a front row hitter for the team. She won this week’s award by receiving 83%, 632 out of 762, of the votes.

Bridges loves her teammates and attributes all of her success to them and to her coaches. She is described as someone who puts the time in, on and off the court, acting as volleyball team captain along with other seniors. In addition to volleyball, Bridges plays basketball and track and is also an Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) All American and All-Star cheerleader.

When not playing with the Rebels or her travel volleyball team, Bridges maintains academic excellence as an honor roll student and member of National Beta Club, fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the school’s art, Spanish and math clubs. JaCarrie Peagler from The Calhoun School and Jamarcus Webb from Central High School were also nominated for their athleticism and setting the standard for excellence on and off the field. Congratulations to Peagler and Box for being nominated this week.

Athlete of the Week is made possible by the joint efforts of The Lowndes Signal and Lowndes County Public Schools Athletic Director Ervin Starr and sponsors, the Black Belt Unincorporated Wastewater Program and the Hayneville QV, as well as the cooperation of the coaches and administration of Central High School, Lowndes Academy, and The Calhoun School.
