Calhoun Football
The Calhoun School varsity football team will travel to meet McIntosh on Friday, Sept. 27 with kickoff at 7 p.m.

Pre-K Program
First Years Child Development Center, First Class Pre-K offers a free 4-year-old program from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for working parents and 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for non-working parents. Classes start in August. Space is limited. Call Katina Surles at (334) 281-8627 for more information.
LCUWP Applications
The Lowndes County Unincorporated Wastewater Project is accepting applications for septic system installation or repair at its office located at 507 W. Tuskeena Street in Hayneville. Call (334) 548-2006 or stop by Monday, Wednesday, or Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for an application.
Head Start
The Lowndes County BOE has opened Head Start registration for children ages 3 and 4 for the 2024-2025 program year. Current immunization records, proof of income, and proof of age are required to register. Call (334) 548-2145 or visit www.lowndesboeheadstart.org for information.
Weather Workshop
Alabama Extension will host “Be Ready, Lowndes County’ on Oct. 8 at “the old Boys and Girls Club of Collirene” from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Each registered participant will receive a free NOAA weather radio, if present, while supplies last. Pioneer Meeting
Pioneer Electric Cooperative will host its annual member’s meeting on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Butler County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 9 a.m. Remember to bring your photo ID.

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office will host Trunk or Treat featuring candy, games and food Oct. 24 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Lowndes County Detention Facility at 653 Alabama Highway 21 South in Hayneville.
