Five student-athletes have been elected Athlete of the Week, and voting has opened for round six.

Nominated for recognition this week are Danjuama Gordon from Central High School, Lowndes Academy’s Crawford Dansby and Layla Olyphant, student-athlete at The Calhoun School.

The Lowndes Signal and Lowndes County Athletics are partnering to highlight our young men and women in the Athlete of the Week contest. Thanks to the help of Calhoun Lighthouse, Lowndes Academy and Central High School, Hayneville and our sponsors Blackbelt Unincorporated Wastewater Project and Hayneville QV, we have an opportunity to encourage student-athletes and reward their dedication.
