The Lowndes County Career Tech Center (LCCTC) completed a shoe drive fundraiser Friday, raising funds for the career training student organizations (CTSO). Earning funds based on the total weight of the shoe, students collected 3,375 pairs of gently worn and new shoes for Funds2Orgs.
“We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our shoe drive fundraiser,” said LCCTC director Shameka Baker. “This initiative has been a remarkable testament to the generosity and spirit of our community. We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed by donating shoes. Your support has made a significant impact, and we are incredibly grateful for your kindness.”
The funds raised will directly benefit CTSOs, helping to pay for essential activities such as conference registration for students, which are crucial for their professional development and networking opportunities.
“We will allocate resources for field trips that enhance career exploration and development, providing students with invaluable experiences that can shape their futures,” Baker said. “Your contributions not only help us meet our immediate goals but also empower our students by providing them with opportunities that foster growth and learning in their chosen fields. We believe that these experiences are vital in preparing them for successful careers.
“Your generosity exemplifies the strength of our community and its commitment to supporting education and career development. We look forward to sharing more updates on how these funds will be used to benefit our students in the near future.”
