Central Basketball

The Central Lions will travel to Luverne Dec. 5 for basketball games beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Calhoun Basketball

The Calhoun School Tigers will travel to play Southside Dec. 5 in a basketball game beginning at 4:30 p.m.

HIM Graduation

Hope Inspired Ministries will hold graduation Thursday, Dec. 5 at Hayneville Baptist Church, 1180 Alabama Highway 21 in Hayneville at 6 p.m.

Calhoun Basketball

The Calhoun School Tigers will travel to play Luverne Dec. 6 in a basketball game beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Rebel Basketball

The Lowndes Academy Rebels will travel to Hooper Academy Dec. 5-6 to compete in a basketball tournament against Macon East. Game time is set for 3 p.m. Dec. 5 and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 6.

Christmas Parade

The Town of Hayneville will hold its annual Christmas Parade Saturday, Dec. 7 with lineup at 9 a.m. and the parade kicking off at 10 a.m. There is no entry fee, but participants and parade goers are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy.

Mom Classes

The Lowndes County Extension Office offers free classes for moms-to-be on topics like nutrition, physical activity, breastfeeding and more. Contact EFNEP educator Hannah Davenport at (334) 382-5111 for more information.

Pre-K Program

First Years Child Development Center, First Class Pre-K offers a free 4-year-old program from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for working parents and 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for non-working parents. Classes start in August. Space is limited. Call Katina Surles at (334) 281-8627 for more information.

LCUWP Applications

The Lowndes County Unincorporated Wastewater Project is accepting applications for septic system installation or repair at its office located at 507 W. Tuskeena Street in Hayneville. Call (334) 548-2006 or stop by Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for an application.

Head Start

The Lowndes County BOE has opened Head Start registration for children ages 3 and 4 for the 2024-2025 program year. Current immunization records, proof of income, and proof of age are required to register. Call (334) 548-2145 or visit www.lowndesboeheadstart.org for information.

Christmas Parade

Fort Deposit presents its Christmas Parade and Health Fair Saturday, Dec. 14. Lineup starting at Lowndes Middle School at 10 a.m. The parade kicks off at 11 a.m. and the Health Fair will begin immediately after the parade. Contact Steven Thigpen at 334-662-9428 for information.

Members Meeting

The Black Belt Unincorporated Wastewater Program will hold its annual Members Meeting for anyone who has, wants or is interested in a septic tank system installed by BBUWP Dec. 18 at the Southview Worship Center in Hayneville.
