Josh Johnson, WSFA 12 News chief meteorologist, and the Storm Tracker truck visited Lowndes County Board of Education Head Starts students, parents and staff on Nov. 14, making stops at Central Head Start, Fort Deposit Head Start, Jackson-Steele Head Start and the Central Head Start Central Office.
“Johnson actually taught an educational lesson to our students, and I would like to entitle it Weather Awareness 101,” said Head Start Family and Community Partnerships Manager Laura James-Hunter. “What was so amazing is that our students participated with active listening and in a Q&A session with Mr. Johnson.”
Hunter James said Johnson also gave everyone a tour of the WSFA 12 Storm Tracker truck to view some of the gadgets that are utilized to gather vital weather information.
