Parades herald Lowndes County Christmas

Lowndes County communities are gearing up for their annual Christmas celebrations. With parades, health fairs, faith events and more, there is something planned to help children of all ages share the joy of the holiday season.
First on the list was the Town of Hayneville’s Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 7. The town’s annual parade was free to enter and attend, but organizers asked everyone to contribute a new, unwrapped toy. Toys for Tots volunteers were on hand to collect the toys for distribution in Lowndes County.
Hayneville’s parade will line up beginning at 9 a.m. and starting at 10 a.m., participants will process towards the square. For more information, please contact Hayneville Magistrate Tamare McCord at (334) 548-2128.
On Dec. 14, Fort Deposit presents its annual Christmas Parade and Health Fair. Lineup begins at 10 a.m. at Lowndes Middle School. At 11 a.m., the parade will begin, culminating at the Fort Deposit Armory where guests can check out offerings at the health fair.

Imago Dei Church at the 45 invites community members to its Children’s Christmas Program to be held Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. The event will be held at the church located at 141 Maple Street in White Hall. Guests are invited to stay for food and fun after the program.
The Town of White Hall will hold its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 21. Line up starts at 10:30 a.m. at 787 Freedom Road. The parade begins promptly at 12 p.m. and will proceed to the Town of White Hall Municipal Complex at 989 Freedom Road.
