Addison Bridges has been voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week for Week 15. She is a senior at Lowndes Academy. She has played volleyball for the Rebels since her seventh-grade year and also played travel volleyball for Manitoba and CCJ (Capital City Juniors Volleyball Club.)
On Jan. 6, Bridges realized a lifelong dream, signing a commitment to play college volleyball at Wallace Community College in Selma. Her mother, Misti Denmark said, “This is all she has ever wanted to do.”
Bridges was an Athlete of the Week winner last year and earned the honor again this week by capturing 66%, 337 out of 512 votes cast in the contest.
Adriana Mason from The Calhoun School and Iyanis Wallace from Central were also nominated for their athleticism and setting the standard for excellence on and off the field. Congratulations to Mason and Wallace for being nominated this week.
Athlete of the Week is made possible by the joint efforts of The Lowndes Signal and Lowndes County Public Schools Athletic Director Ervin Starr and sponsors, the Black Belt Unincorporated Wastewater Program and the Hayneville QV, as well as the cooperation of the coaches and administration of Central High School, Lowndes Academy, and The Calhoun School.
