Lowndes County student-athletes are going strong, tearing up the hard wood as they prepare for softball and baseball season. Round 18 is open for Athlete of the Week, and the contest is the community’s opportunity to support the student athletes representing Lowndes County.

Nominated for recognition this week are J’Vyion Gordon from Central High School, Lowndes Academy’s Thad Bowman and Keonte Abrams, student-athlete at The Calhoun School.

The Lowndes Signal and Lowndes County Athletics are partnering to highlight our young men and women in the Athlete of the Week contest. Thanks to the help of Calhoun Lighthouse, Lowndes Academy and Central High School, Hayneville and our sponsors Blackbelt Unincorporated Wastewater Project and Hayneville QV, we have an opportunity to encourage student-athletes and reward their dedication.
