Black Belt Foundation announces grant cycle

The Black Belt Community Foundation announces its upcoming Community Awareness Grant Seekers Workshop Schedule.

These Workshops will explain the requirements of the new grant application.

Community based organizations from Bullock, Choctaw, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter and Wilcox counties are encouraged to attend.

There will be only one workshop per county for borth art and community grant cycles.

The Black Belt Community Foundation seeks to support organizations engaging Black Belt citizens in addressing critical issues identified by the community.

The 2013 grant cycle will support projects addressing the Arts (interdisciplinary, literary, performing, traditional, visual), Community Economic Development, Education, and Health.

There will be ONLY ONE SERIES OF WORKSHOPS for 2013.

CHOCTAW COUNTY – Monday, April 1st at 5:30 p.m., Bobby’s Community Center, Pennington

MACON COUNTY – Thursday, April 4th at 5:30 p.m., Chamber of Commerce, Tuskegee

HALE COUNTY – Thursday, April 4th at 6:00 p.m., Greensboro City Hall, Greensboro

PICKENS COUNTY – Monday, April 8th at 5:30 p.m., Pickens County Multiservice Center, Carrollton

BULLOCK COUNTY – Monday, April 8th at 5:00 p.m., County Commission Chamber, Union Springs

MARENGO COUNTY – Tuesday, April 9th at 5:00 PM, Linden City Hall, Linden

GREENE COUNTY – Thursday, April 11th at 5:30 p.m., William McKinley Branch Courthouse, Eutaw

LOWNDES COUNTY – Thursday, April 11th at 5:30 PM, Lowndes County Community Life Center, Fort Deposit

SUMTER COUNTY – Monday, April 15th at 5:30 p.m., Land Hall on the Campus of UWA, Livingston

WILCOX COUNTY – Monday, April 15th at 5:30 PM, Wilcox Chamber of Commerce, Camden

DALLAS COUNTY – Tuesday, April 16th at 5:30 p.m., Hampton Inn, Selma

PERRY COUNTY – Thursday, April 18th at 5:30 p.m., Albert Turner Sr., Courthouse Annex, Marion

Applicants are encouraged to submit applications using the new on-line process at www.blackbeltfound.org.  Applications will also be available at each of the workshops.

Grant Applications are due on or before May 1.
