Lowndes under tornado watch and flood warning

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 12 noon today, Monday, Dec. 28 and a flood warning until Friday, Jan. 1 at 4:17 p.m. for counties including Lowndes.
Areas affected by the tornado watch are: Autauga; Bibb; Chilton; Dallas; Elmore; Fayette; Greene; Hale; Jefferson; Lamar; Lowndes; Marengo; Marion; Montgomery; Perry; Pickens; Shelby; Sumter; Tuscaloosa; Walker; and Winston counties.
Areas affected by the flood warning are: Autauga; Dallas; Lowndes and Montgomery counties.
According to the National Weather Service, the Alabama River At Selma is affecting Dallas County. The Alabama River At Montgomery is affecting Autauga…Dallas…Elmore… Lowndes and Montgomery counties. And the Alabama River At R.F. Henry Lock and Dam is affecting Autauga…Dallas and Lowndes counties.
According to the National Weather Service, “Heavy rainfall over the past few days is causing water rises on the Alabama River and a flood warning remains in effect for the Alabama River At Selma, the Alabama River at Montgomery and the Alabama River at R.F. Henry Lock and Dam.
“The Flood Warning continues for The Alabama River At R.F. Henry Lock and Dam
until Friday afternoon…or until the Warning is cancelled,” the National Weather Service reports.
The National Weather Service also reports, “Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast.”
