Carol Ward Nadeau, 89 of Tallahassee, Fla., passed away on Jan. 28, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born in Fort Deposit, Ala., on Nov. 3, 1926. She was the third of four daughters born to Perry Wingate Ward and Frances Churchill Greene Ward.
She graduated from Hayneville High School in Hayneville, Ala., where she was valedictorian of the Class of 1944.
Carol worked at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Fla., for 54 years. She began her tenure with the 3,625th Combat Crew Training Wing and spent the majority of her career as a medical records librarian with the 4,756th USAF Hospital at Tyndall Air Force Base.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Edward Nadeau; parents, Perry Wingate Ward and Frances Churchill Ward; sisters, Dolly Rhee Porterfield and Geraldine Barganier; and her niece, Katie Frances Beverly.
Carol is survived by her son, Joe Allen Quetone; wife, Rebecca; grandson, Allen Francis Quetone and fiancé Martha Walter of Tallahassee, Fla.; sister, Billye Koetje and husband, Bill of Fayetteville, Ga.; nephews, Bobby Porterfield, Larry Porterfield and George Koetje; and nieces, Nan Moorer, Laura Hartsell and Rebecca A. Douville.
Rev. Bill Koetje will lead a celebration of Carol’s Life during a Memorial at Bevis Funeral Home, 2710 N. Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Fla., 32303 at 1 p.m. on Feb. 13, 2016.
Her family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Pacifica Woodmont and Covenant Hospice for their care and support. Her family also extends a special thanks to Carol’s best friend, Connie Clemons, for her kindness, care and support to our family.
