The Lowndes Signal
The road to an Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) Class A state baseball tile came to an end for Lowndes Academy, Wednesday.
After defeating Lakeside at home the previous week to advance to the semifinals against Abbeville on the road, the Rebels fell 7 to 0 and 8 to 0 and were eliminated.
“We lost out,” said Lowndes Academy varsity head baseball coach Shane Moye.
“We had a good season,” Moye said of his 18-11 team. However, he said, “Abbeville has two good arms and we struggle hitting.”
Moye said, “Our bats lets us down yesterday (Wednesday) which was our weak point all year.”
However, the Rebels varsity head baseball coach said he was proud of his guys for how hard they worked this season.
“They were dedicated to the team and gave a lot of effort,” Moye said. “It was a fun team to coach. We struggled early in the season going into spring break at 8-9 and finished winning 10 of our last 12 games.”
