The annual Lowndesboro Independence Day parade and celebration will be held Monday, July 4th with Lowndes County Circuit Court Judge Teri Bozeman Lovell to speak.

Lowndesboro Town Clerk Julia Benton said the parade will begin lining up at Lowndes Academy at 7:30 a.m. and depart at 8:30 a.m., ending at Ruby S. Moore Park.

She said, “We hope the parade will include cars, carts, walkers, bikes, four-wheelers, tractors, horses, fire trucks, and anything else that moves.”

Following the parade, Benton said, the Fourth of July program will begin at 9 a.m. at the park where there will be ribbons for parade and costume winners and Lovell will speak.

Lowndesboro Mayor Rick Pate said, “Please come and celebrate the birth of the greatest nation in the history of mankind. We will have a parade with children, horses, dogs, bikes and more along with some patriotic songs and a short patriotic message followed by cake, watermelon and lemonade.”
