The Lowndes County Emergency Communication District received a clean audit Friday.
An audit of the Lowndes County Emergency Communications District (E911) from Oct. 1 2013 – Sept. 30, 2015 “did not disclose any significant instances of noncompliance with applicable state or local laws and regulations.”
That was the result released by the state Department of Examiners of Public Accounts on Friday, July 29.
“I’m thankful for a good audit, we’re working hard to make sure we follow the guidelines set by the State of Alabama 911 board,” said Santina Rogers, director of the Lowndes County E911 Commission. “We work for the citizens of Lowndes County, and we strive to do our best in serving them.”
The Lowndes County (E911) Communications District was established to operate, maintain and replace an emergency communication system, to establish a common addressing and location identification program and to establish the emergency number data base to facilitate efficient operation of the system.
