In Friday, Sept. 2 football action:
The Lowndes Academy Rebels defeated Coosa Valley Academy at home in Hayneville 43-6 to go 2-0. Their first game with Macon-East was cancelled.
The Central High Lions fell to Zion Chapel 41-26 on the road to go 0-3. Their Holtville game was stopped in the second quarter due to ligtning.
And the Calhoun Tigers fell to Goshen 46-8 on the road to go 0-3.
For Central, Londell Hill scored on a 60-yard kick return; Malek Hill scored on a 26-yard run; Jaquez Bolling scored on a 70-yard run; and David Baldwin scored on a 11-yard pass from Keegan Blackman.
Swanique Gordon, the first girl to play football for Central had five tackles and several assists.
For Calhoun, Gnald Sharpe scored on a 7-yard touchdown play and Andre Carter scored a 2-point conversion.
