Calhoun and Central both fall to 0-3 on road

In Friday, Sept. 2 football action, the Calhoun Tigers and Central Lions both took it on the chin in regional contests.
The Central High Lions fell to Zion Chapel 41-26 on the road to go (0-3) (0-1). Their Holtville game was stopped in the second quarter due to ligtning.
And the Calhoun Tigers fell to Goshen 46-8 on the road to go (0-3) (0-1).
Scoring Central touchdowns, Londell Hill scored on a 60-yard kick return; Malek Hill scored on a 26-yard run; Jaquez Bolling scored on a 70-yard run; and David Baldwin scored on a 11-yard pass from Keegan Blackman.
Swanique Gordon, the first girl to play football for Central had five tackles and several assists.
For Calhoun, Gnald Sharpe scored on a 7-yard touchdown play and Andre Carter scored a 2-point conversion.
The two arch rivals Calhoun and Central will face each other in a regional contest Friday at Central.
