Lowndes County Public Schools and Lowndes Academy will be closed Friday due to pending inclement weather.

According to the Lowndes County Board of Education, all offices and schools will be closed Friday, Jan. 6th. Also, Lowndes Academy reports it will be closed Friday, Jan. 6, as well, and there will be no athletic games.

The Calhoun basketball game against Luverne at home Friday, Jan. 6 has been cancelled due to pending inclement weather.

The after-school 21st Century Community Learning Programs at Hayneville Middle School and Lowndes County Middle School have been cancelled for Friday, January 6th due to weather concerns, as well.

Calhoun School Athletic Director James Bibb said Saturday’s home game with Greenville has also been cancelled.

Central’s game with Hillcrest Hill School for Friday, Jan. 6 was rescheduled due to a conflict to Jan. 19th.
