The Central High Lady Lions are champions of Class 2A Area 6 basketball.

The Lady Lions defeated Goshen at home in the Uralee A. Haynes Gym tonight, Friday, Feb. 10, 74-51.

The Lady Lions were led by Derrica McCall with 25 points, Melody Walker with 17 points and Kadijah Williams with 19 points.
Central Lady Lions head basketball coach Terry Thomas said, “I feel like even though we are freshmen heavy, we are very talented.”

Thomas said he did not know how far his team can go in the playoffs, but he said, “Our goals are high.”
He said he felt the Lady Lions will be one of the top teams in 2A next year.

Thomas said Friday night’s win was a “total team defensive effort.”

But he said McCall has been the team’s leader all year averaging 20 points per game.
