From staff reports

Lowndes County Engineer David Butts announced Wednesday that the plan is to close Lowndes County Road 32 (Mason Road) for temporary repair due to an undermined pipe Thursday.

Butts said Tuesday the pipe was “undermined” due to rain and that it “was discovered Sunday night.” He said at the time one lane of the road is closed and that he did not know how long the lane would be closed because the county will have to get the pipe necessary to make repairs.

Butts said the road is located south of the Burkville Volunteer Fire Department and north of Casey Feed.

Wednesday, Butts announced, however, that a temporary repair of the road will be made Thursday with a section of pipe.  And he said it is anticipated the road will be closed from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. to make a temporary repair, but stressed that is only an estimate.
