A single-vehicle crash on Lowndes County Road 62 at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, July 16, claimed the life of a Letohatchee woman.
Corporal Jesse Thornton of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said, “Patricia Jo Samolsky, 50, was killed when the 2000 Jeep Cherokee she was driving left the roadway and overturned.”
He said, “Samolsky, who was not using a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.”
According to Thornton, the crash occurred on Lowndes County 62, approximately 10 miles east of Fort Deposit.
“Although circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation, alcohol and speed are believed to be factors,” Thornton said.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
