Lowndes faces Monroe on hardwood

The Lowndes Academy varsity boys basketball team’s winning streak came to an end following a 50-39 loss to Monroe.
Clayton Hussey had a double-double and led with 12 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, five steals , and three blocks. He made six of his 14 two-point shot attempts.
Jackson Self was the second-highest scorer for the Rebels with nine points, three rebounds and one steal. He made two of his 10 three-point shot attempts.
Parker Lee Harris scored eight points for the team and ended with three rebounds, two assists and one steal. He made two of his four two-point shot attempts and one of his seven three-point shot attempts.
Colby Briggs scored seven points with 12 rebounds, one steal and two blocks. He made three of his 11 two-point shot attempts.
Trey Thomas scored three points with four rebounds.
Following the loss, the varsity boys sit with a 7-1 record for the season.
The junior varsity boys were able to defeat Monroe in a close matchup with a final score of 26-22.
Waters Box led the team with 18 points, three rebounds and one steal.
Will Brassell and Reid Owens scored three points. Brassell had three rebounds, one steal and one block while Owens had nine rebounds.
David Callaway scored one point for the Rebels with six rebounds.
The junior varsity boys improved their record to 2-4 for the season as a result.
The varsity girls team also defeated Monroe with a final score of 33-8.
Camryn Hess led the team with ten points and had seven rebounds, six assists and one steal.
Haylon Self scored six points with four rebounds and one steal.
Addison Bridges scored five points with four rebounds and two assists.
The girls are 3-2 for the season with a three win streak.
