The spirit of giving back and helping those in need is easy to find in Lowndes County.
From the numerous ministries in our communities working to change lives to stories of law enforcement members giving their time to mentor and guide local youth, there are many Lowndes County residents working hard to improve their communities and the lives of the people who live in them.
With our many day-to-day challenges, it may not always be easy to step away from the busy schedules and dedicate time to help others.
The strong volunteerism, ministerial efforts, and community-driven programs thriving throughout the county provide the blueprint for being good stewards to others.
Hayneville Baptist Church serves as one of the most recent examples of giving as members of its congregation brought toys to donate to 17 to children of families enrolled in the county’s Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters during a Sunday worship service.
While people were there to give their time to God, they also found a way to bless those families with an even brighter holiday.
We look forward to hearing and telling more stories showcasing our citizens demonstrating acts of benevolence, and we hope the spirit of giving lingers beyond the holiday season and into 2023.
